TEAM & REGISTRATION INFO

Three Chimneys Farm has had a successful summer recreational swim team for 24 seasons and counting! It all started with a few enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers, and it has grown in its success and numbers over the years.

Our team prides itself on introducing young children to the sport of swimming, fine-tuning the skills of our more seasoned swimmers, and mentoring many of our teenagers to become coaches on our team. We also find that swim team gives the kids a great avenue for meeting new friends (and enables the parents to meet more of their neighbors!). All Three Chimneys neighborhood children, that meet the age requirements, are invited to participate. Non-Three Chimneys residents may be invited to participate as guests and are accepted on a limited basis.

Below you will find information about our Sparks program and Flames teams, registration information, our current calendar of events, and some basic information regarding our team. We hope you’ll join us in continuing this great tradition of summer swim team!

***Please read this entire informational document. Although long, it outlines all of our team policies and registration information (including our NO REFUND policy)***

SPARKS

Age group/skill level: This group is open to those children who have not yet turned 6 years old as of May 31, 2026. Swimmers who will not be four years old by May 31st are unable to participate. Swimmers who will turn six years old before May 31st will need to join our Flames team. The Sparks program started in 2013 as our junior "feeder team" for the Flames. The focus of this group is to provide a fun, team-like environment for younger children who actively need a coach in the water and need assistance with basic swimming skills (arm strokes, kicking, putting face in the water, back float, jumping in the water). At the start of the season, the children are evaluated and placed into an appropriate small group for individualized, hands-on instruction. The ratio between coach and swimmers is never greater than 5 to 1.

To participate in Sparks, children need to have a general comfort level in the water and be at least 4 years but not yet 6 years old (as of May 31st, 2026). Once your child has learned the basic stroke techniques for freestyle and backstroke, we strongly encourage you to move your child to our Flames 6U group (this can be done mid-season). This will provide them with more repetition of the strokes and prepare them for participating in meets in the future. This group caps at 30 participants, so sign up early! If you are uncertain if your child should be a Spark or a Flame, please reach out to the swim team committee via email at [email protected] for additional guidance on making a determination.

Meets: The children will swim one length of the pool with a coach in the water and receive a participatory ribbon from each home swim meet (2-3 meets). If you ONLY have a Sparks swimmer participating in the meet, you will NOT be required to volunteer at the meet.

Registration fees: The Sparks registration fee is a flat fee of $235 per Sparks swimmer. This fee includes the ASA league registration fee of $50. All Sparks swimmers will receive a t-shirt with their registration. A TCF swimsuit is optional and may be purchased for an additional fee. (see below)

FLAMES

Age Groups: The Flames team is open to all swimmers ages 5-18. On the Flames team, there are six main age groups. They are: 6 & under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-18. Age groups are determined by their age on May 31st, 2026. Except for the 6 and under age group, the children will swim all four strokes; Backstroke, Butterfly, Breaststroke, and Freestyle. The 6 & under group will swim Freestyle and Backstroke. ALL swimmers should be able to swim the length of the pool unassisted to join the Flames team. If your child needs to stop, briefly, on the rope, that is okay!

Meets: Our team is part of the Atlanta Swim Association (ASA). Each week we will have a “dual meet” against another neighborhood team, for a total of 5 local meets. Typically, two or three meets will be at home, and the others will be away. For the 2026 season, all meets will be away. These meets are typically held on Thursday evenings (this season, our last meet will be on a Tuesday) and officially start at 5:30pm and run to around 9:30pm. (Please note that all swimmers and volunteers arrive around 4pm, and the 6 & under group will finish early).

By early April, we will post our meet schedule (locations of meets/opponents) on the swim team website. RSVPs for these meets will open about 2 weeks prior to each meet, with the exception of the ASA Championship (details will be sent out mid season). When RSVPing, there will be a place you can let us know whether your child will get to the meet late, if only one of your children is swimming, stroke preference, etc. The ability to RSVP will be locked on the Friday prior to each meet, with the exception of the last meet, which will be locked on the Wednesday prior. If you need to change your child’s availability after that you will need to contact Emmy Tyre directly at 404-358-2639. More detailed directions for how to RSVP to a meet will be posted on our team’s website.

VOLUNTEERS

Meet Volunteers (for families with Flames swimmers)

We need your help!! In order for our swim meets to be successful, you must meet the following volunteer requirements:

1-It is mandatory that one adult from each family volunteers for each swim meet your child(ren) participate in. (Flame swimmers only).

2-It is required to volunteer for the “Bull Pen” for at least (2) swim meets of the season if you have a swimmer that is 12 & under.

3-You are responsible for your "Volunteer Position" for each swim meet and should an emergency occur, it is also your responsibility to find your own "sub" to fill your position. If your position is not filled and left unattended, your child will not be allowed to swim at the next attended swim meet.

4- A $50 fee will be given to anyone who does not show up for their volunteer shift. You must find a sub if you are unable to fulfill your position.

5- Each family will be asked to donate items for our concession stand prior to the season - a sign up genius sign up sheet will be emailed out after registration has begun.

Volunteer positions include: place judges, timers, recorders, event flippers, ribbon writers, bullpen workers, and concession workers. Full descriptions of each position are located on our website under the "Volunteer" tab.

Volunteer sign-up will begin before each meet. We will send an email as we get closer to our first meet and the volunteer sign-up opens. More detailed directions for how to select a volunteer position for each meet will be coming soon. You will need to select a Volunteer Position for each meet your child(ren) will participate in. The swim team committee will do their best to fulfill this request, but reserves the right to change this position as needs change for each meet and as families finalize their RSVPs for each meet. Please note, for all last-minute changes, you need to let us know ASAP and may be responsible for finding a sub for your volunteer position. Thank you for your support in this effort!

SWIMSUITS

Both Sparks and Flames swimmers will have the option of purchasing a TCF Flames swimsuit. We will be using the swim shop Reddiset as our suit vendor this season. The suits will be available to try on and purchase at our Swimsuit Try-on Night on Wednesday, March 25th from 5:30-8pm at the TCF clubhouse. If you are unable to attend the try-on night, you can go to their website to purchase suits and caps if you already know your size. Suits purchased after the cut-off date may not arrive until after the start of the season and may incur a shipping charge. If you choose to not buy a suit, we recommend having your child wear a black or red suit for our swim meets. Sparks swimmers are welcome to wear any suit that is comfortable for swimming.

SPONSORSHIP

Each spring, our TCF Flames eagerly awaits for the pool to open and swim practices to begin. Our fantastic group of coaches help our swimmers improve their athletic abilities by practicing daily and preparing them for the summer swim meets. During this experience, swimmers are also learning valuable life lessons about sportsmanship, overcoming challenges and supporting each other as a team. The best part is that they get to experience all of this while having a lot of fun along the way and many swimmers have expressed that TCF swim season is their favorite time of year!

Sponsorship funds allow us to offset swim team operating costs and maintain equipment needs such as starting blocks, lane lines, flags, tents, etc. As a sponsor and community partner, you will receive great exposure and recognition within the neighborhood. THE FUN STUFF!

As much as all of the kids love to swim, there are also some fun “bonuses” that go a long way with the kids. Here are a few of them!

Kick-off Party – Come pick up your TCF Flames t-shirt, get your photo taken, eat some pizza, and SWIM!

Meets – Meets are not only a great way to put those swimming skills to the test, but it is also about hanging out with friends (including meeting new ones) and cheering on your teammates. You’ll see plenty of kids showing their spirit with tattoos and “Eat my Bubbles” written on their backs!

Munchie Mondays - Mondays we will hand out donuts and ribbons after the scheduled practice for the swimmers to celebrate their great swims from the meet.

Treat Tuesday - Once morning practices begin, each swimmer will get a treat after practice on Tuesdays.

Fix-It Friday (Optional) - Friday mornings in the summer will be an optional time for swimmers to work on their strokes and dive skills with coaches from 10:30-11:30am. This is a great opportunity for year round swimmers to refine technique and receive individual feedback as well!

Teen Nights – This season we will be holding an event for our older swimmers to hang out with their teammates. We will have a gathering for our pre-teen swimmers and a separate gathering for our teen swimmers. Dates for these events will be announced as the season progresses.

End-of-Season Party – Time to celebrate a great season! This party includes medals for each swimmer, special recognition awards, games, and cake!
